I have seen bad hires actually kill an early-stage company and this mistake is always a VERY expensive one I have hired many hundreds of people in my career and even hired 150 people over about a 6 month period once. After 15 years I have developed a system that I think insures about a 95% success rate, when the average failure rate of hires is more than 50%.
